THE STORY BEHIND WOODENTOKEN.COM

Tony O'Hara

I live in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, at the foot of God's glorious creation—Pikes Peak. Several years ago, I came across an old wooden nickel tucked away in a junk drawer. That small find started something much bigger than I expected.

I bought a simple laser engraver and began making wooden tokens engraved with Bible verses so I could carry Scripture with me and memorize it throughout the day. Before long, I had created hundreds of verse tokens. I called them Word Wafers, because the Word of God is food for the soul. That project remains close to my heart and is where everything began.

As time went on, others began asking for tokens of their own—first for giveaways, then for events, conferences, and special occasions. What started as a personal faith practice grew into a way to create meaningful, tangible items for all kinds of uses.

Today, woodentoken.com is a place to showcase the full range of wooden tokens I create: faith-based pieces like Word Wafers, along with custom swag for businesses, commemorative tokens for annual events and conferences, keepsakes for state fairs, and fun, thoughtful giveaways for holidays, parties, and celebrations. Each piece is designed to be simple, durable, and meaningful—something people will keep, not toss aside.

At the core of it all is the same purpose that started it years ago: creating things that matter, made with care, and—when appropriate—quietly pointing back to the God who gave the inspiration in the first place.
